SHE & JUL FILMS was established in Shanghai in 2005, but maintains a branch in Singapore, with a focus on film and TV production. Company founder Julliet Pan remains the core component of the tri-continental teams, and endeavors to draw on the company’s international founding to improve the content and marketing of their products. As a multicultural individual – a Singaporean citizen, born in China and educated in the United States – she understands the challenges of working in local and international markets. SHE & JUL FILMS only employs passionate, bilingual teams of locals who infuse their work with the expertise and creativity to translate clients’ works across all borders. Their tailor-made approach and dedication has enabled the team not only to design successful projects, but also to gain a wide audience for a variety of commercial videos and television programs.

SHE & JUL FILMS relies on its strong network of local and international directors, photographers and designers to meet clients’ visual production needs. The cameramen’s scene control enables directors to focus on realizing their artistic vision through expert implementation. When it comes to editing and post-editing, efficiency and effectiveness are a given. The true added value lies in the team’s ability to combine technical skill with an aesthetic perspective. The marketing team plays off these skillsets by packaging products so they speak to the popular sentiment of target audiences, all with a sharp awareness of time constraints. In brief, SHE & JUL FILMS strives to be the ideal collaborator, with its work based on the belief that each artist and creator is unique, and each project should be treated as such. Investing themselves in implementing the clients’ vision is the company’s ultimate goal.

This pride and work ethic extends to every project; whether they are short movies, reality TV shows, urban videos, international or local undertakings, all projects are processed with equal care in detail and outcome. This collaborative spirit has brought praise from the international community and industry critics for the numerous projects.

When SHE & JUL produced the Milan series of “STYLE TRIP in 2010,” they garnered the highest audience rating in the show’s history. The following year, the team’s similarly popular production of “STYLE TRIP-BARCELONA” earned an invite to the 2012 Asia TV Gala. On a personal level, Miss Pan’s interest in producing short films saw her work “BUTTERFLY REFLECTION” showcased in France’s competitive Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival, and in 2011 SHE & JUL had established a strong brand in the industry.

Their reputation was further cemented by their production of “THE AMAZING RACE-CHINA RUSH SEASON 2.” The team maintained the show’s top-rating and was chosen to participate in the Asia TV Festival, where they beat out the Australian team to win the Best Adaptation Award. SHE & JUL then chose to focus on the Mainland market, producing a series of specials about Chinese traditional festivals intended to share the experiences of these celebrations so deeply rooted in Chinese culture. The three-part series – The Tomb-sweeping Day, The Dragon Boat Festival and The Mid-autumn Festival and The Dragon Boat Festival – were collectively awarded the President’s Award by SMG – Shanghai Media Group, and were publicly praised by the Shanghai municipal government. The Mid-Autumn Festival was also chosen for larger distribution on TV stations both locally and abroad: Changchun TV Station, Jiangxi TV Station, Chinese TV Station in the U.S, LA Channel 18, America Kylin TV, SiDa Africa TV Station, and Singapore’s StarHub Cable television station. In 2012, SHE & JUL extended their programming experience to the production of new and popular television and online cooking show “THE STEAMY KITCHEN.”

Under the leadership of Julliet Pan, SHE &JUL has been recognized as a first-class planning and production team. The trust and respect it has earned in media circles has resulted in long-term partnerships with the likes of Channel Young, The Bund, ICS, VOGUE, and Benesse Corporation (Japan’s largest education group), as well as earned the firm power of attorney for a number of collaborators and working relationships with a wide network of foreign production companies.

Through these networks, Miss Pan herself has served as a Director and Artistic Director for a variety of Channel Young shows, produced the French magazine madame FIGARO and worked as a photography producer for VOGUE. Behind the production scenes, Miss Pan occasionally reports for BUND magazine, interviewing famous directors such as Hou Hsiao-Hsien, Royston Tan and TV interviews two-time Oscar winner Oliver Stone for Channel Young.

Since the beginning of 2012, SHE & JUL has started to shift its focus to its own productions, including “The Steamy Kitchen” and “The Lane,” both directed and supervised by Miss Pan. Even as the company continues to take on more ambitious client projects, Miss Pan has just finished the script for the company’s next in-house production.
